Taste Magazine August issue

Related articles
The August issue of Taste combines two of our favourite things, Sugar and Spice, and they’re sure to help you through the last of winter. The sugar hit comes from doughnuts – glazed or sugared, or filled with cream and surprisingly easy to make: you’ll never get store-bought again. There are classic French recipes from Sweet Paris – French women don’t get fat, after all, so eat your fill of crème brulee and tarte au citron.

The spices come via Julie Biuso, whose fabulously easy classic Indian dishes show Indian food doesn’t have to be hard— and it doesn’t have to be full of butter and cream. (Check out her very handy guide to spices while you’re there.) Nici Wickes, meanwhile, shares her favourite Moroccan recipes including a wonderful chicken, preserved lemon and prune tagine to see you through the last of winter.

The winter warmth doesn’t stop there. Sarah Bowman presents us with spiced winter fruits, and Luca Villari gets creative with grains. Then we drop in on a gorgeous dinner at Israeli chef Yael Shochat’s bistro, Ima, where she cooks the Mediterranean food of her homeland.
