Ingredients

  • 4 cups (880g) sugar
  • 1 cup (250ml) lemon juice

  • Cooking time: Less than 15 minutes
Method

Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Dissolve sugar on low heat, stirring constantly. Increase heat to medium and simmer gently for 5 minutes, without stirring.

Set aside to cool completely. Stir in lemon juice, strain and pour into bottles. Store in refrigerator. When ready to serve, stir 2 tablespoons of syrup into one glass of iced water.




Tip: keep a bottle of this syrup in the refrigerator and you'll have a cool drink on hand anytime. Just add chilled water or soda water.
