Family chicken sausage rolls

  • Serving size: Serves 4-6
  • Cooking time: Less than 60 minutes
Method

Preheat oven 200°C/ 180°C (fan forced) and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

Combine the mince, carrot, chives, rice, fetta and egg and mix well. Season with salt and pepper and divide mixture into four.

Lay one sheet of puff pastry onto a flat work surface and arrange chicken filling along one side of the pastry. Roll up to enclose chicken and cut into three portions; place onto baking tray and repeat with remaining pastry and filling.

Score the top of each sausage roll lightly 4 or 5 times and brush with milk; sprinkle over black sesame seeds and bake 30 minutes or until pastry is golden and chicken is cooked through.

These are beautiful my husband loves them I make them with brown rice and reduced fat pastry to make them healthier. They are superb have made them several times.
i'm confused, dont you mean poppy seeds, not black sesame seeds Excellent recipe...i used poppy seeds.
Than you for this recipe also. will be trying for sure.
fantastic recipe, im a diabetic who has high cholestrol and switched the pastry to filo pastry and they were devine my husband and grandchildren thought they tasted better than normal sausage rolls
These were divine! Great for leftovers too.
Thanks for the recipe, these sound delicious, but what I like most is knowing exactly what has gone into the making. Could use recipe for making Chicken sausages. If worried about pastry, use filo pastry, put together with a light brush of oil between layers rather than butter.
Wonderful meal for a Motor home. an so easy
What a fantastic idea,My daughter doesnt like eating red meat, Im going to get her to make this tonite, and if there's any left overs she can have it for lunch.
This sounds like an easy and most delicious sausage roll and made with reasonably wholesome ingredients too. Will replace white rice with brown and apart from the pastry sounds delicious. I think my diabetic husband will love these!
